Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 17 May 2012 (drinks media wire) - : The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA)'s participation in SIAL China has significantly boosted the international profile of UAE-produced dates, opening many new avenues of trade.
The Authority's successful participation at SIAL China 2012 along with a number of top UAE dates companies, which took place in Shanghai during May 9-11, 2012, attracted as many as 10,000 visitors. ADFCA Pavilion hosted some of UAE’s largest date production companies such as Al Foah Company, Liwa Dates, Emirates Delight Dates Factory and Royal Dates Company. ADFCA and the participating companies promoted in a concerted manner UAE dates, one of the main agricultural products in the emirate, and related products to a significant cross-section of businesses and interested parties.
ADFCA Pavilion has attracted several visitors, companies and institutions involved in the field of food. The number of visitors has exceeded 10,000 visitors during the three days.
The UAE date companies received several requests from investors in China, France and Japan for the rights to represent UAE dates and related products in their countries, opening up new and hitherto largely unexplored new market opportunities. Additionally, ADFCA's participation also helped rope in many companies to participate in SIAL Middle East and the Emirates Date Palm Festival.
Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the results that came out of participation in SIAL China had far exceeded the expectations. “The participating companies were able to strike important business deals with partners from different countries to market UAE dates and related products overseas.
We have succeeded, during our participation in the exhibition, in enhancing the international profile of UAE dates to an unprecedented extent. We hope this will translate into significant economic benefits in the days and months to come," he explained.
