Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2012: A Decade of Continued Improvement

(drinks media wire) – 2012 marks the 10th year of Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong – Asia Pacific’s first and leading fine dining and bar trading exhibition that gathers the best suppliers from around the world, offering wide ranges of tableware, glassware, cooking and storing equipment, technology, furnishings, food, wines, spirits, coffee, tea and other beverages.

This year’s event will bring together more than 250 exhibiting companies and more than 14,000 retail decision-makers including owners and F&B Directors of the most prominent restaurants, hotels, clubs, bars, cafes as well as executive chefs, sommeliers and wine buyers.

Hong Kong’s spending on dining and entertainment was one of the highest in Asia/Pacific, according to findings from the latest MasterCard survey on Consumer Purchasing Priorities – Dining and Entertainment in 2011.

Stuart Bailey, General Manager at Diversified Events HK Ltd., the organizer of Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2012, said, "Undoubtedly Hong Kong has improved its restaurants in this time and the quality of the food and the service in Hong Kong today has never been higher. The Asian Seafood Exposition featuring Frozen Food Asia will be co-located alongside Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong, allowing chefs, hospitality groups and F&B directors to speak directly to those supplying the best live, fresh, frozen and packaged seafood around. Adding opportunity to cross market their products to high-level foodservice and catering establishments.

The past ten years in Hong Kong has been quite a journey with a few bumps along the way but through all of these good and bad times one thing that has remained constant has been the support from the industry for the show.
