Alberta Premium Awarded World-Class Distinction
Local whisky takes home the gold for Canada
CALGARY - This Thursday, Calgary's own Alberta Premium will receive international recognition during a special presentation to Master Distiller Jim Rogerson at the Alberta Distillery. UK native and world's foremost authority on whisky, Jim Murray, a.k.a. Whisky Jim will award Alberta Premium the title of "2006 Canadian Whisky of the Year."
Author of the renowned Whisky Bible 2006, Jim Murray calls Alberta Premium the "great hope for Canadian whisky," believing it can "stand shoulder to shoulder with any whisky in the world."
Following the presentation, the man the BBC refers to as the World Guru of Whisky, will conduct an exclusive tasting of Alberta Premium, highlighting reasons why this local whisky received an international accolade.
