Russian Standard Vodka Presents the 2007 GQ Men of the Year Awards in Munich, Germany

German and International Celebrities Honored

The “2007 GQ Men of the Year Awards Presented by Russian Standard Vodka” were announced on Friday night at a glamorous VIP ceremony in Munich, Germany. The celebrity event was sponsored and presented by Russian Standard Vodka, Russia’s number one premium vodka brand.

The event took place in Munich’s stately Prinzregententheater, which was turned into a life-size ice palace, complete with three meter high blocks of Russian Standard Vodka bottles frozen in ice. After the award winners were announced, the curtain on the Prinzregententheater’s parted and over 1,000 VIP guests flooded backstage to enjoy Russian Standard Vodka until dawn.

The awards ceremony and after-party were attended by a long list of celebrities including: American actor Josh Hartnett; Italian designer Donatella Versace, British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton; Fiat heir and style icon Lapo Elkann; environmentalist-filmmaker David de Rothschild; supermodels Tatjana Patitz and Carmen Kass; and actress-model Diane Kruger. German stars included actors Juergen Vogel, Kostja Ullmann and Armin Mueller-Stahl; Grammy-award-winning trumpeter Till Brönner; and comedian Hape Kerkeling.

The winners of the "GQ Men of the Year 2007 presented by Russian Standard Vodka” are:

GQ Man of the Year 2007: Lewis Hamilton, British Formula 1 driver
Special Editor’s Award: Donatella Versace, for best men’s collection
International Film: Josh Hartnett, U.S. actor and star of current number one box office hit “30 Days of Night"
Best Style: Lapo Elkann; Fiat heir and style icon
Social Engagement: David de Rothschild, environmentalist and filmmaker
Lifetime Achievement: Armin Mueller-Stahl, German international film star
German National Film: Juergen Vogel, German actor
Literature: Hape Kerkeling, German comedian and bestselling author
Shooting Star: Kostja Ullmann, up-and-coming German actor
Music: Till Brönner, Grammy award winning German trumpet player
Sport: The German National Handball Team (winners of the 2007 Handball World Championship)
