During the fall board meetings held this week in conjunction with the International Dairy Show, the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and its three constituent organizations - the Milk Industry Foundation (MIF), the National Cheese Institute (NCI) and the International Ice Cream Association (IICA) - elected new officers and voted on new board members. Leading each association for the next year will be: IDFA Chair Gary Vanic, president and CEO, Great Lakes Cheese Co., Inc.; IDFA Vice Chair and MIF Chair Mike Nosewicz, vice president, dairy group - east, manufacturing division - dairy, The Kroger Co.; IDFA Secretary and IICA Chair Brian Perry, executive vice president/vice chairman, Perry's Ice Cream Company, Inc.; and IDFA Treasurer and NCI Chair Dave Fuhrmann, president and CEO, Foremost Farms USA, Cooperative.
"IDFA is extremely grateful for the industry professionals who serve as officers and directors, and we appreciate the time, resources and talents that these volunteer leaders tirelessly give to the dairy industry," said Connie Tipton, IDFA president and CEO. "This is a pivotal time for the dairy industry, and we look forward to a dynamic and productive year ahead."
The IDFA chairmanship is open to any former leader of one of the three constituent organizations for up to a two-year term. Vanic, who was re-elected this year, is a former NCI chairman and sits on the NCI advisory committee. The chairmen of MIF, NCI and IICA are elected by their respective board members for two-year terms.
