Working Together for a Healthy Future
(Drinks Media Wire). Professionals from across the food and drink sector are invited to attend the Food and Drink Federation’s Biscuit, Cake, Chocolate and Confectionery Sector Group’s (BCCC) annual conference on 6-7 April 2011.
Entitled ‘Working Together for a Healthy Future’, this year’s conference will be one and a half informative and interactive days covering 18 hot topics, led by leading experts, across the scope of nutrition and health, labelling, marketing and the state of the UK food industry.
This year’s speakers include Dr Clair Baynton from the Department of Health and FDF’s director general Melanie Leech who will be tackling the challenging issue of marketing to children. Master chocolatier at Sir Hans Sloane Chocolates, Bill McCarrick, will provide a unique SME perspective on the challenges and changes necessary in order to be more competitive in the current marketplace.
Other sessions include: perspectives on nutrition and health (from industry, retailer and consumer points of view), the impact of labelling on consumer choice, health claims, childhood obesity, and the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Code on advertising to children and digital advertising.
BCCC’s annual conference is an excellent forum for information and discussion on issues that affect industry, as well as a key networking event bringing together suppliers, manufacturers and academics.
