Hundreds of Restaurateurs to Gather in D.C. for National Restaurant Association's 2011 Public Affairs Conference
(Drinks Media Wire). Highlights theme “America Works Here” showcasing nation’s restaurants
(Washington, D.C.) Nearly 500 restaurateurs from across the country will convene in Washington this week for the National Restaurant Association's 25th annual Public Affairs Conference.
Held April 13-14 at Washington’s Renaissance Hotel, the conference will give restaurateurs an opportunity to interact with members of Congress and provide them with a better understanding of the integral role the restaurant industry plays in the economy – as the second largest private sector employer in the country - and the contributions that restaurants make to better their communities. The conference will highlight the theme “America Works Here,” a campaign that the National Restaurant Association launched in January to better tell the industry’s story to opinion leaders, highlighting restaurants’ economic impact, career opportunities, and philanthropic giving.
The conference agenda includes a dynamic lineup of prominent political experts, including elected officials, political pundits, and industry leaders.

Gala Dinner program for Public Affairs Conference attendees, with an opening reception sponsored by Louisiana Seafood. Winners of the 2011 Faces of Diversity and Restaurant Neighbor Awards will be honored. Speakers include Rep. Charlie Gonzalez (D-Texas), Rep. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) and nationally known political pundit Tucker Carlson.
