Company NewsAWWA’s Water Security Conference: registration is now open
(Drinks Media Wire). Conference will coincide with National Preparedness Month 2011
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced today that the 2011 Water Security Conference (WSC), which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on September 11-14, is now open for registration.
In response to President Obama’s 2010 Presidential Proclamation encouraging “all Americans to recognize the importance of preparedness [and to work together] to enhance our national security, resilience, and readiness” the event will coincide with the 2011 National Preparedness Month, and will contain sessions that stress the importance of strengthening the security and resiliency of national water infrastructure.
Conference sessions from WSC will include topics such as cyber security, legislative/regulatory updates, utility case studies on emergency response and physical security, lessons learned from the Water and Wastewater Agency Response Networks (WARN), risk and resilience management, and advances in contaminate warning systems and technologies.
The 2011 Water Security Conference will be co-located with AWWA’s 2011 Distribution Systems Symposium. This is the second year for these conferences to be co-located, to provide attendees with access to both technical programs.
