Olly Smith is New Wine Columnist for Waitrose Weekend
Olly Smith has joined the team at Waitrose Weekend, as the newspaper’s new wine columnist.
(drinks media wire) - From the 13th October, Weekend readers will be able to enjoy Olly’s
uniquely enthusiastic style of writing and pick up some top wine tips along
the way.
As a well-known wine journalist and TV presenter, Olly features regularly
on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and Iron Chef UK. He writes a weekly wine column
for Live magazine in the Mail on Sunday and is involved in shows including
the BBC Good Food Show and Masterchef Live.
Olly says, ‘I’m delighted to be stepping aboard to share my tips in
Weekend. It’s a newspaper that I read and adore and I can’t wait to
encourage more people to embrace the wonderful world of wine, and of course
beers and spirits too.’
‘I'm chuffed to be able to spread the word on great value and great quality
drinks picks far and wide to Waitrose customers. For me wine is about shared
enjoyment; I want to help people to find new wines, to match wines with cooking and

Waitrose Weekend is the supermarket’s free weekly newspaper, which covers
all aspects of food, drink, entertainment, news and sport. It is available
in all Waitrose stores each Thursday.
